HEAL is a digital repository that allows medical educators to discover, download, and re-use over 22,000 medical education resources. Through generous funding by IAMSE, HEAL is becoming a dynamic, user-centered digital environment to allow medical educators to share and discuss teaching resources and methods. This is being accomplished through the incorporation of key characteristics of Web 2.0 technologies into HEAL including user reviews of resources and user tagging (searchable keywords) of resources.

Zoals vele universiteiten bezit de Universiteit van Amsterdam een grote collectie portretten. Deze collectie werd begonnen in 1743, toen de Amsterdamse koopman Gerard van Papenbroeck vijftig portretten van 'Geleerde en Vermaarde mannen' naliet aan het Athenaeum Illustre, de voorloper van de Universiteit van Amsterdam. Nu, ruim 250 jaar later, bestaat de collectie uit bijna 500 portretten. De groei van de universiteit en de verspreiding over vele gebouwen in de stad heeft geleid tot versnippering van de collectie.

In de virtuele portretgalerij is de volledige collectie samengebracht. Deze galerij biedt de unieke mogelijkheid alle portretten, waarvan een groot deel niet openbaar toegankelijk is, bij elkaar te zien.

Welcome to Images from the History of Medicine (IHM). This system provides access to the nearly 60,000 images in the prints and photograph collection of the History of Medicine Division (HMD) of the U.S. National Library of Medicine (NLM). The collection includes portraits, pictures of institutions, caricatures, genre scenes, and graphic art in a variety of media, illustrating the social and historical aspects of medicine.

BrainMaps.org is an interactive zoomable high-resolution digital brain atlas and virtual microscope that is based on over 15 million megapixels of scanned images of serial sections of both primate and non-primate brains and that is integrated with a high-speed database for querying and retrieving data about brain structure and function over the internet. Currently featured are complete brain atlas datasets for various species, including Macaca mulatta, Chlorocebus aethiops, Felis catus, Mus musculus, Rattus norvegicus, and Tyto alba.
