Het Dutch Cochrane Centre vertegenwoordigt de Cochrane Collaboration in het Nederlandse taalgebied. Belangrijkste doel van het Dutch Cochrane Centre is mensen te helpen bij het nemen van wetenschappelijk onderbouwde beslissingen over interventies in de gezondheidszorg. Zij werkt samen met buitenlandse Cochrane centra met als doel het maken, actualiseren, verspreiden en gebruiken van Cochrane systematische reviews optimaal te ondersteunen. Zij doet dit door mensen enthousiast te maken voor het maken van een Cochrane review, hen te trainen en met raad en daad te ondersteunen. Daarnaast streeft het Dutch Cochrane Centre ernaar het gebruik van Cochrane reviews in het werkgebied te bevorderen.

Bandolier
Bandolier is a print and Internet journal about health care, using evidence-based medicine techniques to provide advice about particular treatments or diseases for healthcare professionals and consumers. The content is 'tertiary' publishing, distilling the information from (secondary) reviews of (primary) trials and making it comprehensible. The selection of material and the content are determined by RAM and HJM, with neither control nor direction from any other body.
In Bandolier worden artikelen kort besproken, de gegevens worden zeer overzichtelijk gepresenteerd en vaak wordt een duidelijk advies (duidelijke uitspraak over de validiteit en relevantie van bevindingen) gegeven.

Physicians need rapid access to the best current evidence on a wide range of clinical topics. But where to find it? Textbooks are frequently out-of-date, and we don't have the time to perform literature reviews while the patient is waiting.
BETs were developed in the Emergency Department of Manchester Royal Infirmary, UK, to provide rapid evidence-based answers to real-life clinical questions, using a systematic approach to reviewing the literature. BETs take into account the shortcomings of much current evidence, allowing physicians to make the best of what there is. Although BETs initially had an emergency medicine focus, there are a significant number of BETs covering cardiothoracics, nursing, primary care and paediatrics.

Evidence Based Health Care starts with the patient in the consulting room, and in my view there is no substitute for good listening to find out the reason for that particular visit, as I have written in an article for Doctor. However there are questions arising from almost every consultation that I cannot answer, and from time to time I attempt to turn these into a four-part question (as described in the EBM handbook by Sackett et al).
